Beef or Lamb curry with delicious soft cooking potatos and rich gravy.    


1 kg lamb on or off the bone cut to bite size and washed and drained

2 large tomatoes chopped  

1 tablespoon crushed ginger and garlic 

3 potatos cut into 1/4s 

¼ cup oil 

1 med onion chopped 

Salt to taste 

1 pack of Kelly’s spice.  Each pack makes for 3 kg of lamb use 1/3 for 1 kg lamb 



Heat oil in a pot and add chopped onions.  Fry onions until golden brown.

Add Kelly’s spice 1 after the other. Begin with no. 1/2/3/4/5 as marked on the packets,Stir instantly into oil and onions until covered

Add lamb, ginger, garlic and salt. Wrap the curry mixture well into the meat. Do not add water. Close the pot and allow to cook for 15 mins and the stir again.  If the curry is drying out, add ½ cup of boiling water.  Allow to cook for a further 15 mins.  Keep checking so that the curry does not dry out 


 Add chopped tomato and mix into meat.  Allow  tomato to melt for 10 mins   


Add potatos and 1 cup boiling water mix into meat. Allow to cook until soft and delicious. +-20 minutes. Garnish with coriander
